Remembering Rob Hordijk
The synth master
September 2nd the Willem Twee Studios organises together with Jos Smolders a synth day, dedicated to Rob Hordijk who passed away a year ago.
Afternoon: Interviews and workshop the Gibber
A new Hordijk module will be presented; the Gibber. This instrument was invented by Rob, but was never realised. For some of the visitors there is a possibility to build one themselves during a DIY workshop by Biyi Amez who has been working with Rob for years.
Live and work of Rob Hordijk will be told in images and sound. Armeno Albers will interview some of Rob’s friends. It will be an afternoon full of information, Rob's design ideas and anecdotes. Also improvisations on the Benjamin, Blippoo, Gibber and the Hordijk System can be heard.
Start: 14:00
Free entrance
Evening: cd-presentation and performances
In the evening the new compilation CD Hordijk Vol.2 will be presented, which contains music played on the Rob Hordijk instruments. With contributions by Todd Barton, Jos Smolders, Felix Kubin and many others.
There will be performances on the Blippoo, the Benjolin and the Hordijk system by Richard Scott, Joker Nies and Biyi Amez, who have a lot of experience in playing and experimenting on these Hordijk instruments. Todd Barton will perform live through a long distance connection as well!
Start: round 19:30
